Sarah Huang, MC

Registered Clinical Counsellor

Sarah has been counselling for seven years. Her area of specialty is working with children, adolescents and families, but she also counsels women and pre-marital couples.
As a registered therapist, wife and mother to one daughter, Sarah realizes how important connection, relationship and attachment are in all of the roles, and continue to be the foundation of her counselling model. Coming from an attachment-based theoretical model Sarah believes that in order for parents to make sense of their children and youth the relationship bond first needs to be strengthened. In utilizing child-parent relationship therapy, art and play therapies, among other methods, Sarah helps parents cope with behavioural issues, anxiety, child and youth trauma, grief and loss and depression.
When working with women and pre-marital couples, Sarah utilizes expressive therapies. She also uses transformational and narrative therapy while working with women for relationship issues, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, personal and spiritual growth. While working with pre-marital couples, Sarah integrates both Gottman’s couple therapy and emotion-focused therapy.
