David Strauss

Pastoral Elder

Though born in Edmonton, Alberta, David spent most of his growing up years in Richmond, B.C. David completed college training in avionics and computer digital electronics. He worked for 22 years for Pacific Western Airlines/Canadian Airlines International, in avionics, flight simulation/pilot training and in management. During those years he served as a volunteer in various leadership positions in Christian ministries including as a Youth Director, Finance & Administration Director, a Board Director and as a Board President and CEO. His father Ervin Strauss, a pastor for more than 40 years, was his chief mentor for ministry. In 1994 David responded to the call of the Lord and of Rose of Sharon to leave his supervisory position at Canadian Airlines International and enter the ministry as a vocation. He has served as Church Administrator, Family Ministries Director and now as Pastoral Elder with Rose of Sharon Baptist Church and as Executive Director with Rose of Sharon Ministries. David and his wife, Fran have been married since 1982 and God has blessed them with nine children, five boys and four girls. Along with their children they are involved in many community activities. David and Fran are each other’s best friend and God has blessed them with an incredibly busy and fulfilling life together. The Strauss family live in Aldergrove and are within walking distance to the church and school. They enjoy living in the community that they serve and minister to.
